Stamfag – a Swiss company with a long tradition

Established in 1883, Stamfag AG became one of the world's leading punching tool manufacturers. Around 25 years ago, Stamfag launched a revolutionary punching tool consisting of a body and a cutting crown. Still the backbone of the company’s manufacturing operations today, this tool offers customers significantly higher performance combined with top accuracy and an easy maintenance. Due to a succession plan, Leuthold Mechanik AG (HLM) took over the company in 2011 and relocated the Stamfag operations to its factory halls in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. This ensures that our entire development and production activities are remaining Swiss-based.

Founded in 1974 by Heinz Leuthold, Leuthold Mechanik AG is a global leader in manufacturing deep-draw tools and machines for the aluminum packaging industry. Using state-of-the-art machinery, the company delivers complex customer solutions in the fields of machine, device and tool construction.

Stamfag represents a logical expansion of HLM’s operations. Active in similar markets and relying on related technologies and experience, the two companies benefit from exciting synergies which make a decisive contribution to their respective medium and long-term goals.
